The headline beneficiary for 2009 is the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF)
The ABF is the Soldiers Charity and for over sixty years has worked tirelessly to provide support to serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.
The people supported include those with disabilities or mental illness, people experiencing homelessness or unemployment, and older people.

In addition we will support the following:
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). CRY was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD); Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS, SADS). CRY's Vision in 2009 is to work with cardiologists and family doctors to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young by establishing good practice and screening facilities devoted to significantly reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death throughout the UK.

Help for Heroes Help for Heroes has become a ‘National Institution’ and it is hard to believe it only started in October 2007. Since it has raised £1 million a month to help support our wounded servicemen and women injured in the current conflicts.

Gift Aid
Participants can make their entry fee even more worthwhile by Gift Aiding their entry fee. Just tick the box and sign the entry form and we will be able to claim28% of your entry fee (e.g. £2.24 or £2.80 for the benefit of the 2009 charities. For 400 entries this could be a minimum of nearly £900 by courtesy of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) – all for a simple tick in the box.
